Hey! Actually, there's no better time to start blogging than today, because we are living in a digital world where you go to check for reviews on Google before you buy anything, even if it is available in an offline and where you find the best organization tips and who gives you all the food recipes for your dinners! I bet it is some blogger and who has a fantastic collection of healthy recipes. Everyone is learning and purchasing products and services online nowadays, that's why it's such a best time to start a blog.
When I started my blog, I have no idea what I was going to write about. I was lost in finding the niche so I guess I'm going to just put my name on the blog domain and eventually it worked out well for me as now Digital Biswas, sounds like a good blog name and on this site, I share my tips and tricks for starting a blog in online business for making money.
We are all consumers of online content and it is not the future it is the reality you might be here right now because you want to start a blog or you have already a blog but you want to learn how to make money out of it.
And you can make a very good source of income from blogging. But before you start a blog, I want to talk about the basics of what is a blog and how to start it and how you will make money from it.Â
What Is A Blog?
A blog is considered to be an online note but technically it can be also considered as an informational website. It is good for people who want to make money by sharing information and for business persons, who want to promote there products and services online platforms. The content of a blog typically includes texts, photos, videos, animated gifs, graphics, and more.Â
There are two types of Blogs -Â
The first one is blogs created by people, who call themselves bloggers and the idea is usually to make money from it with advertising work by selling affiliate products and you share your posts, people read about your posts and companies show their ads and you are getting paid for it. This is great for beginners. But it is not only for beginners a lot of huge online brands started technically as blogs probably you know names like BuzzFeed, TechCrunch, The Penny Horder and these are all very big publishers making probably over a million dollars a month with advertising and sponsored content on their sites.
The second type of blogs is created by companies or maybe people who already have a business and they want to use a blog to connect with their audience better it serves as a platform where you can put all the information about your business.Â
What Are The Benefits Of Running A Blog?
Blogging is the perfect platform if you want to build a strong community and build trust with your followers with regular blogging and constant posting of high-quality content and information. Your business will look more credible and people will start following your blog for advice or reading about your product recommendations and more.
Another benefit of blogging for your business, if you are a product-focused business, then you can share more detailed information about your products. Suppose you have a fashion brand, you can make blog posts with texts and photos about different ways on how you can style a particular piece of clothing. And if you are a beauty or a skincare brand, you can share a detailed procedure on how you can use or apply your products in a nutshell. You can build your brand or credibility for your business or personal brand through blogging.
How To Make Money Online From Blogging?
You could start blogging in free platforms like Blogger or WordPress dot-com, but I honestly don't recommend you doing this because you have a very long and un-trustworthy address of your website. If you do so on the wordpress.com, it will look something like xyzdomain.wordpress.com.Â
And if you have a custom domain name, it could make it easier to memorize it. Because it will be shorter, it will be looks like xyzdomain.com and the second reason is in free blogging platforms, you will be limited in lots of ways, you won't be able to use all the monetization options, and your website will not be seen by search engines for ranking your pages.
If your website hosted on a free platform, this platform can be shut down any day and all the work you have done will be lost because your content was published on their platform. So it's doesn't even belong to you, what do you need to do instead well you intend to make money from your blog. So guys change your mindset from trying to do everything for free.
Take it as an investment in your business. If you had to start a business in an offline market, in most cases you would need to invest something before you make your first money. Right!
Customize Your Theme:
I also would like to say about the essential parts of a blog. It is important to understand your blog, so you don't have any issues whenever you want to customize your blog theme or change something in the coding part of your blog.Â
I will discuss some fundamental parts of the blog that every blogger should know about to deliver a logical user experience. But I want to tell you that you can add or remove some parts of your blog that even from those fundamental parts that I will discuss because it will all depend on your personal preferences and also on the strategy that you have for your blog. Just keep in mind whenever you decide to remove some of the blog elements, make sure that you are aware of all the pros and cons of doing this.Â
The first element is basically your home page. Now the home page is where your visitors will come if they want to have a quick overview of what your blog is all about and what kind of content you are writing. Your home page should be visually attractive and user friendly or else your visitors will quickly leave your page and your bounce rate will increase.Â
The second important page is about-us page and on this page, you can give an introduction about you and about your business, you can add some history of your business, you can write about your vision - why you started your website, what your blog is about and anything else that you find important to show to your users.
The third important page is called category pages. It will help your readers to find out related content to what they are interested in. By adding categories, you are helping your older posts like that are on page 7. For example, they will not be hidden by hundreds of new posts because users can operate a route through this category.
The fourth important page is called the contact-us page and on this page, you will put your contact form, you can also add your phone no., email address, office address, or physical address. So your viewers can easily reach out to you.Â
If you want to create a special page for a special form, where viewers can instead of giving them the email address, you could just give them a form on that page.
Another type of page you could have on your site is the shop page if you're selling or offering online courses, that could be called services and this is somewhat similar to the shop page.
Blog Structure:
An important part of any blog site is blog posts. A blog post can be either a text article, it can include images or infographics or can even include some of the videos that you published it on your YouTube. You can also include them in your blog post and it is important to publish your blog on a regular basis.
The content of your blog posts must be related to your niche. If you are a fashion blog, it wouldn't be ideal to suddenly make a post about technology. So no one will find you credible that way and you should only post about your single niche, in which you have the expertise and you are comfortable and confident.
Another very important part of any blog is blog comments, that can be found within your blog posts at the end at the bottom part of them and it will actually depend on you if you want to turn them on or keep them off. But the comments section is one of the top places in your blog, where you can build a community and you can engage with your readers. So I do suggest turning them on and if you have worried about spam, you can have a spam filter on your site, especially there on WordPress plugins to do this. You can manually manage all the incoming comments, so you can filter them out and just add the ones that have no spam links in them.Â
Another essential part of any blog is your subscription form for your email newsletter. This can either be in the form of a pop-up that shows up on your content. It can be a widget, it can be even in the form of a simple banner, that gives you a link to another page, where users can sign up for your list. I recommend collecting subscribers to your newsletter the very moment when you start your blog You don't want to miss your potential customers, so once you decide to send out your newsletter, you will already have a good amount of subscribers in your list.Â
Coming to the last part is the footer. Every website should have a footer option, you can see at the bottom of your blog post pages. It can usually be the same for your home page and for other pages and usually, it includes either the links to some important pages like a contact-us page, about-us page, privacy policy, disclaimer pages, and also it may include some links to your social media profiles so the audience can continue following you outside of your blog.
Follow all these steps and make money online from blogging.
